'Finding Fela!' Screening & Food reception
In October 2024, as part of Black History Month and following Nigerian Independence, a special screening of 'Finding Fela!' took place in the goodies cafe in the basement of NCAD. Supported by NCADSU, the event was designed to be an emersive experience and celebration of Nigerian culture and the late revolustionist Fela Kuti.
Finding Fela! traces the powerful exploration of Kuti's legacy, not only as a pioneer of Afrobeat, but a fearless politicalk voice in his own right who challeneged authority and reshaped cultural expression in Nigeria and beyond. Following the screening, the event transitioned into a food reception catered by Mama Shee, an independent business specialising in Nigerian food. Providing a totally immersive experince.
